In December 2024, we embraced the festive spirit by celebrating Christmas in our Mandarin classes for two weeks. Our students learned Christmas greetings in Mandarin, such as:
- Zhù nǐ shèngdàn kuàilè! (We wish you a Merry Christmas!)
- Zhù nǐ xīnnián kuàilè! (Wishing you a Happy New Year!)
- Bǎ hǎo de xiāoxī dài gėi nǐ hé jiārén! (Bringing good news to you and your family!)
To make learning engaging, we incorporated festive videos and encouraged students to express their creativity through drawings.
In the final week of the term, we had a Christmas morning tea, where students’ parents joined us in celebration. Each family contributed a dish, creating a beautiful spread of diverse foods reflecting different cultures. Students were also invited to dress in Christmas-themed clothes, adding to the joyful atmosphere.
Celebrating Growth and Achievements
Throughout 2024, our business experienced growth. We expanded our classes, introduced new learning opportunities, and saw our students progressing. From launching a new beginners’ foundation class to establishing a booster class for advanced learners, we created more pathways for students to develop their Mandarin skills.
We also explored various engaging topics in class, including food, drinks, and sports and celebrating special sport events at the Paris Olympics. It was such a thrill to see our students’ enthusiasm and their progression.
Appreciation to Parents and Teachers
We value the support from our students’ families. Parents play an essential role in their children’s learning journey, and we appreciate their dedication. A special acknowledgment was also given to our teachers, Andrea and Maggie, for their hard work and commitment behind the scenes, ensuring a nurturing and effective learning environment.
Holiday Cheer
To conclude the celebration, we invited everyone to join in saying “Merry Christmas” in Mandarin: Zhù nǐ Shèngdàn Jié Kuàilè! Each student was then called up to receive a small present in recognition of their hard work throughout the year.As we wrap up 2024, we are filled with excitement for the year ahead.
