I can only rate this centre very highly. Teacher Yatchun and her team are amazing. Teachers were kind and good with children. Very good teacher to children ratio. According to my child it was always fun and he would come home saying a few mandarin words that he learnt in class. We would not have stopped if it wasn't for a clash in activity but definitely will try to join in again soon.

I am currently enrolled in mandarin online classess for adults at Pistachio Mandarin Language Centre with Yatchun Wong as the primary tutor/teacher and business owner. I really appreciate their focus on cultural meanings to key phrases of the language. It is very helpful and provides added meaning /purpose around the context of the sentence. I have been attending the online lessons for nearly six months and have thoroughly enjoyed not only learning the language but also the association with teachers/tutors and other students. I have traveled to China and having a few basic mandarin sentences and phrases on hand has given me confidence to chat openly with the locals and my chinese friends and it has also given me an appreciation for China, the people, and its rich culture. Taking Mandarin courses with Pistachio has been an incredibly enriching experience. The language's tonal nature and intricate writing system initially posed challenges, but with dedicated practice and supportive instructors (thanks Andrea and Yui!) I've made significant progress. Our son has attended Chinese classes for over 1 year. Before this we tried various online or other classes. This is the best. They just don't teach the language, but culture and also traditions to give an all round learning experience. On top of that their classes, modules and teachers are amazing. Our group classes are held at Kohia Terrace School in Epsom every Saturday morning. We currently offer four children’s classes where students, starting from primary school, develop listening and speaking skills in Mandarin. Through creative repetition and word meaning application, our teachers unlock each child’s potential. Free trials are available for prospective students.
Businesses
2 x 2 hour courses
We offer Mandarin Chinese classes for businesses online, via Zoom. We can also accomodate a hybrid of online and in-person learning at your office. Our curriculum focuses on building key conversational skills, ensuring your team gains practical and relevant foundational language knowledge and culture.

Tailored for a combination of high school students and adults, this course emphasises foundational Mandarin through interactive lessons. With a focus on conversation, students will develop their listening, speaking, and pinyin (romanized Chinese) writing skills. Each 60-minute session is designed to be engaging and practical.
