At Pistachio Mandarin Language Centre, we aim to create meaningful and joyful learning experiences, and this year’s Christmas Festival was a wonderful way to end the term together.

In December 2025, we embraced the festive spirit by celebrating Christmas in our Mandarin classes for two weeks. Our students learned Christmas greetings in Mandarin, such as:

  • Shèng dàn lǎo rén (Santa Claus)
  • Shèng dàn lǐ wù (Gifts)
  • Shèng dàn shù (Christmas tree)

To help students connect the words with familiar traditions, we used short festive videos, songs, and activities such as wordsearch that made learning meaningful and enjoyable.

In the final week of the term, we had a Christmas morning tea, where students’ parents joined us in celebration. Each family contributed a dish, creating a beautiful spread of diverse foods reflecting different cultures. Students were also invited to dress in Christmas-themed clothes, adding to the joyful atmosphere.

Celebrating Growth and Achievements

Throughout 2025, our business experienced growth. We expanded our classes, introduced new learning opportunities, and saw our students progressing. We launched a new beginners foundation class for older children to create more pathways for students to develop their Mandarin skills.

In class, we explored a variety of engaging topics, from hobbies to cultural celebrations. This year, we celebrated Diwali with a special visit from the Indian Consul General and enjoyed our very first Halloween activities. It was wonderful to witness our students’ enthusiasm, confidence, and continuous growth throughout the year.

Appreciation to Parents and Teachers

We value the support from our students’ families. Parents play an essential role in their children’s learning journey, and we appreciate their dedication. A special acknowledgement was also given to our teachers, Andrea, Saleha and Sophie, for their hard work and commitment behind the scenes, ensuring a nurturing and effective learning environment.

Holiday Cheer

To conclude the celebration, the children joined together to say “Wishing you a Merry Christmas” in Mandarin: Zhù nǐ Shèngdàn Jié Kuàilè! Each student was then invited to come forward to receive their certificate of achievement and Christmas present. The certificates recognised the positive spirit, enthusiasm, and curiosity they brought to their Mandarin learning, as well as their dedication and joy in embracing each challenge.

As we wrapped up 2025, we look forward to another year filled with learning and growth. Thank you to all the families and students for being part of our journey — Zhù nǐ xīnnián kuàilè! (Happy New Year!)
